BEST stands for Business, Ethics, Sustainability and working Together. These four pillars of BEST guide our work. We believe when doulas run successful businesses, guided by the ethics they set standard in their practices, learn how to place sustainability as a core, and work together in local communities and larger doula communities, doulas thrive! At BEST we give you all we’ve got because we focus on abundance. There is no gait keeping. No holding back. We all do better when we build each other up. Not only have Amanda and Maria been Doulas for over twenty years and are industry experts in birth, postpartum and business, they are still actively working. They share their expertise with no gate keeping and are available for mentorship to all BESTies. We will never tell you to work for free or for less than you are worth. We will never ask you to have a person in another career define your value. Because of this, we do not require certification births. They are an antiquated practice rooted in patriarchal ideas of a career hierarchy. No doctor, nurse, lawyer or plumber needed an architect to confirm their validity. Nor were they asked to work for free until their value was confirmed.
You will leave training a doula, confident and ready to support families. -
If you want to attend training in person you can train in any location, it doesn’t matter where you plan to work. If you want to train online, you can pick any dates that work for you.
Training is dynamic and fun. And whether you are training online or in person, we are all training at the same time, live! -
You do not need to find your own childbirth class or breastfeeding class, we include it. In fact, we include nearly everything but books.
